The reality show that follows the work and lives of professional interior designers Top Design shall return on Wednesday, September 3 with 13 brand new contestants and a new host, top model and design aficionado India Hicks.

The second season is said to be more intense and the stakes are higher! The contestants shall be critiqued by some of the most influential names in the interior design industry. Inside scoop tells us that the challenges will range from redesigning a fall out shelter to competing in a full design triathlon. Different personalities with creative egos shall add spice to the show.

Todd Oldham shall be mentoring the contestants the second time around. While head Jonathan Adler shall head the judging team along with other judges such as Margaret Russel and Kelly Wearstler. Those three shall decide the deserving winner of the $100,000 cash prize plus a four page editorial showcase in Elle Decor magazine.

From New England millwork supplier and interior specialist, Van Millwork will have their series of Seminars for Home Design. Top experts in the home design, construction and landscape design industries will present series of informational presentations that are specifically geared for homeowners. The seminar series will feature useful information on how to build the home that you desire by guiding you through all the steps, from learning about the joint task of both architect and interior designer to choosing the correct window treatments and paint colors, and modern ideas to produce enthused residential gardens.

Happening on June 12, the Classic Group Inc., architects and builders, and Cebula Design, interior design firm will present the “Creating the Team for your Home Project,”. This series will deal with the home renovation or new construction project specifically addressing the significance of placing the precise “team” for the place.

Chrisicos Interiors, Van Millwork, C&R Flooring, Jacqui Becker Fine Arts Consulting Services and Wolfers Lighting will present the final seminar on June 26. The presentation is themed with “It’s All in the Details,” tackling the importance of preferring the right interior finish and trim, the correct fabrics and wall designs that will work best for your space. It will also deal on how to choose proper window treatments along with proper lighting and artwork to build a home you desire to live with.

All seminars are free and complimentary lunch is also provided. Seminar will be scheduled from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Van Millwork Design Center, 65 Crawford St. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Mark your calendar as the American Institute of Architects/Los Angeles invites you to join their 2008 Summer Home Tour Series’ “A Stroll Through Venezia”, happening on June 29, 2008, highlighting the beautiful houses by Los Angeles’s leading architects. You can see the homes, talk to the architects, and discover new designs for living.
Prior to viewing the homes on June 29 they will also have the Architect’s Forum hosted by Snaidero USA on June 25, 6:30 to 8:30 in the evening. Architects will discuss the creative process behind each scheme, from different challenges, solutions and elements making each house distinct and only one of its kind.

The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) unleashed its 20th annual Fair gathering different design disciples from all over the world. This year, the ICFF took place at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City last May 17 - 20, 2008, assembling the world’s finest, creative and innovative individuals.
