Most of the time, the master bedrooms in many new homes are so outsized that they can look spare and unreceptive even when furnished with some huge items. A properly executed cluttered look will create a more lived-in look to your bedroom but not messy at all.

You can make the corner of a room attractive when cluttered up with style. When you add some furniture, make it appoint that all these pieces have their functional role in the room. You can put a chair or an ottoman to fill up the corners of a room or a velvet-tufted chaise lounge to add color and pattern that help soften the space. You can also use some small tables for books, magazines and framed photographs to scattered around the room. A bookcase can be added as well, along with a bench at the foot of the bed where a bedspread could be placed. Other furniture such as writing desk and chair can be situated perpendicular to a wall or used in place of a night table. Don’t forget to define a seating group with an area rug. And then there are flowers, plants and drapery that will surely help make even an extra-large bedroom appear pleasantly cluttered.
Today the designs of traditionally styled rooms are being interpreted with more freedom than in the past decades. We now see colors, patterns and furniture that have been once considered “incorrect” for the look of a particular era.
Some historians of interior design point out that styles now associated with specific periods were never as parochial as we have come to believe. Domestic interiors always have been regarded as places of sanctuary and refuge. Rather than abiding to some standards, today decorating and designing are typically styled according to personal taste and choices.

Buy Organic Bedding. Its sheets and pillowcases made from fibers grown without synthetic pesticides or genetic engineering. Eco-friendly is the overriding umbrella and organic is underneath that. If it’s organic but it uses a lot of resources from the earth in terms of how it’s made, then it’s not necessarily eco-friendly in the holistic sense. Organic is still preferred when it comes to your health. Try to shun the chemical known carcinogen and choose chemical-free sheets such as organic cotton or bamboo. Buying organic doesn’t only do you a favor; it also preserves our mother earth. For blankets, wool is greener than polyester. Be very particular when you see the words “repellents” or “proof” on bedding labels. This point out that chemical are used to treat these products.
Reuse Furniture and Fabric. Instead of buying a new bedroom set, check out some furniture that you already have and invigorate it. For inexpensive do-It-yourself pillows or curtain panels, go for fabric shops and ask for their leftover material scraps. Or, repurpose previous blankets and sheets and create a comforter that’s completely your own.
